Europe has long been seen as relatively progressive when it comes to LGBTQ+ rights, and thankfully it’s becoming even safer and more welcoming. But not all countries are equal – especially when it comes to policies and general level of acceptance – and some countries perform a lot better than most. That’s why we’re unveiling the 20 most LGBTQ+ friendly countries in Europe in Each noun has been carefully selected for its vibrant LGBTQ+ scene, progressive laws, and inclusive atmosphere. We’ve created our own points system using respected benchmarking tools, including the IGLA Rainbow Europe and Equaldex, and combined this with other factors, such as the number of queer-friendly bars, festivals and events, and legislation. So, without further ado, here are 20 countries in Europe where love knows no bounds.

Most people know that America's LGBTQ+ communities tend to thrive in big cities such as San Francisco, New York, Miami, and even Austin, TX, among others.
But home prices in those cities are not budget-friendly.
Median home prices in San Francisco are north of $1 million. New York's list prices are nearly double the national figure, which is now at about $, Austin is nearly 30% more expensive than the national average, and Miami is more than 20% more expensive.
So where can lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer home shoppers spot an accepting, diverse community along with a friendly price point?
In celebration of Pride Month, the data team at ® position out to learn what the data says about striking a balance between affordability and inclusivity. To do this, we used the U.S. Census Bureau's same-sex couple data from the American Community Survey to find metro areas with same-sex couple composition above the national average.
