Best gay wedding photos
Recently there has been several large changes in the way the US handles same-sex marriage. Now, I don’t write about politics, which I think is adj for all of us in the same way that I don’t cook is lucky for the people I live with. I write about photography and people. I also don’t create predictions about laws and the world, mainly because I’m not sure what I’m going to have for dinner tonight and as I write this, it’s almost 8pm (cereal is always a safe bet at this point though), but I will say this: as same-gender marriage becomes more accepted and recognized, the need for photographers who will happily and professionally photograph these weddings as they would any other, will increase. And I hope to be one of the first photographers in my area a couple thinks of for these jobs.
I include been lucky enough to photograph several same-sex weddings and commitment ceremonies. For this article, I will be referencing the gorgeous wedding of Jeremy and Randy, who when I asked, were thrilled to allow me to show their ima
It has been several years since the same-sex marriage bill was passed by parliament. With the exception of Northern Ireland and some British Overseas Territories, gay couples can now enjoy a marriage officially recognised by the state. The first gay marriage in the UK took place on 29 March , and ever since gay couples verb been producing some of the greatest wedding photos ever. We take a look at some of the most romantic and creative ways gay men hold rendered their marriages on camera.
Woodland escape
A favourite for many years, this type of wedding photo features you and your beloved lost in rustic woodland. Photographers “This Modern Life” did just that for this couple, and we love the whimsy and sheer romance of it. A double photo is a amazing idea, featuring a close-up of the couple and a juxtaposed image of them walking hand-in-hand into the distance.
Natural light
The endless warmth and charm that instinctive light creates in a wedding photo is perfect! And nothing will put on a grin on your face like this photo of a Pablo and Andres, captured during the golden hour. Ta

Best LGBTQ Wedding Photos from NYC and Beyond
Here are some of my favorite LGBTQ wedding photos from over a decade of documenting queer love stories in New York City and around the world. I originally began this photo roundup on June 26, —the historic day that same-sex marriage was legalized in all 50 U.S. states. Each year, I continue to add new moments that remind me why this work matters so deeply.
To photograph LGBTQ weddings is not just my job—it’s a calling. Its the privilege of my life to document this chapter of our collective history, and to witness the radiant love, intimacy, and joy that comes with both personal and political liberation. There’s an extra layer of celebration at queer weddings—a fierce kind of joy born from struggle, resilience, and finally, recognition.
This post is dedicated to every couple who invited me into their world, and to the generations who fought for the right to love freely and visibly. It’s also for those who didn’t live to notice marriage equality, but paved the way with courage and conviction.
Happy Pride Month.
Intimate Wedding in Saint Paul | Kevin & Pete
I have to admit, I am living for these intimate weddings! Kevin and Petes wedding taught me that every single wedding day is beautiful, no matter the circumstances. There can be rain, snow, sleet, civil unrest, or a global pandemic; nothing could prevent these two from tying the knot. I was originally a little nervous to shoot Kevin and Petes wedding photos. This was my first gay wedding. However, Ive known this couple for a long time now, and Ive shot wedding photos for countless couples before. Ultimately, I knew this would be no different. Ive had other photographers ask for advice when it comes to shooting gay couples wedding photos and here it is: Its literally no different.
Posing and shooting a same-sex couple is exactly the adj as every other couple. You can just use the taller person to take the traditionally male poses or just flip back and forth of who takes what traditional part of the pose.
