Harry Styles Discusses His Journey to “Figuring Out” His Sexuality

Harry Styles & Olivia Wilde Address "Toxic Negativity" Amid Romance

Harry Styles' personal life isn't up for public consumption.

The "Watermelon Sugar" singer recently opened up keeping his adj relationships private and why he's decided to keep his sexuality to himself.

"I've never talked about my life away from work publicly and found that it's benefited me positively," he explained in an interview with Rolling Stone as the magazine's newest global cover star. "There's always going to be a version of a narrative, and I think I just decided I wasn't going to spend the time trying to correct it or redirect it in some way."

Specifically, Harry—who has been dating Olivia Wilde for more than a year—doesn't believe he owes anyone an explanation when it comes to the rampant speculation surrounding his sexual identity.

"Sometimes people say, ‘You've only publicly been with women,' and I don't th

Harry Styles addresses probing on his sexuality, says he's on his 'own journey'

Harry Styles' sexuality has been a topic of fan discussion he rarely addresses. But in a new cover story, Styles himself dipped his toe into said discussion and shared he's on a "journey" with his sexuality.

Styles, 29, opened up about accusations that he is "queerbaiting" in an interview with Rolling Stone on Monday. Styles pushed back against the term, which refers to teasing that you are a part of the LGBTQ community to gain a larger audience but never confirming if you are queer.

“Sometimes people say, ‘You’ve only publicly been with women,’ and I don’t think I’ve publicly been with anyone," he said. "If someone takes a picture of you with someone, it doesn’t mean you’re choosing to include a public relationship or something.”

Harry Styles: ‘I’m not just sprinkling in sexual ambiguity to be interesting’

Here he comes, one of the planet’s most conspicuous new men, stepping out of the London drizzle and into a dusty suburban pub. If there was an old vinyl log player in the place it would scratch quiet. Instead, the two-dozen punters turn hushed and intent, as if a unicorn has just trotted in off the street, and nobody wants to scare it off. “That’s frickin’ Harry frickin’ Styles,” whispers a young man at the bar, “in this pub.” The pop star is asked what he wants to drink and in a voice already inclined to undertones, quietly orders a cup of tea.

A former teen star who is now 25, a happier and rockier solo artist since his boyband One Direction split a few years ago, Styles has hidden himself inside a large, swamp-green parka. He’s tall, around the 6ft mark, and carries himself with a slight stoop. If Styles could only do something about his appearance from the neck up (elfin brow, wide Joker smile, a face that’s recognisable across multiple continents) you sense he could drink in pubs like this
