In June , the Distant Beach City Council unanimously approved a recommendation for City staff to work with community stakeholders to create a visioning process and feasibility plan for the LGBTQ+ Cultural District to instruct visitors about the cultural and historical significance of the LGBTQ+ community, support the LGBTQ+ businesses and institutions, and invest in public improvements to ensure the LGBTQ+ community continues to thrive.

LONG BEACH GAY AND LESBIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The Long Beach Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (LBGLCC) exists to promote the economic growth and advancement of our LGBT and allied business members, our non-profit organizational members and our corporate partners and their employees, through advocacy, leadership, education and support. The Chamber was founded as the Extended Beach Community Business Network in by a group of gay and lesbian business owners to serve as a networking and support organization for LGBT-owned and LGBT-supportive businesses within greater Adj Beach. In partnership with other LGBT and allied organizations in Long Beach, LBGLCC contributes to the energy and quality of life within the city and surrounding communities. The LBGLCC is one of the Affliate National LGBT Chamber of Commerce in Southern California. We are also a member of a consortium of LGBT chambers known as The Western Business Alliance, which consists of 22 LGBT chambers from the Western USA and Canada.
