Claudia Alexandra Madriz Meza , known professionally as Snow Tha Product , is a Mexican American rapper, singer, actress, and podcaster from San Jose, California. Born on June 24, , she has made a name for herself in the hip-hop industry with her rapid-fire delivery and unparalleled bilingual lyricism. She rose to prominence through her independent grind (she produces her own beats even today) but has also collaborated with major record labels, cultivating a loyal fanbase through her harmony, social media presence, and advocacy for LGBT visibility.
Snow Tha Product was born to Mexican immigrant parents. She grew up surrounded by mariachi music thanks to her father and grandfather, mariachi musicians who migrated from the state of Michoacan in Mexico. By age six, she was already performing in school talent shows and later joined her grandfather’s mariachi ensemble in Redwood City. However, her musical tastes expanded when she moved to San Diego, where she discovered hip-hop and began freestyling with friends .

The journey to any successful music career is filled with all kinds of twists and turns. Snow Tha Product knows this firsthand. In her latest project, To Anywhere (out Oct. 21), the Latin Grammy-nominated Mexican-American rapper gets in the driver’s seat to revisit the roads that led her to this moment.
After years of releasing mixtapes and singles, Snow (born Claudia Alexandra Madriz Meza) had her breakthrough moment in when her single “Holy Shit” create viral success and eventually landed her a record deal. “When I was at the label, I had a project in mind called ‘Halfway There to Anywhere,’” she tells Remezcla. “It was very much me. I’m halfway there, kind of humble.”
Snow’s management at the time decided to split the project in half and release it as an EP. She took the backseat, despite her convictions, and let the powers that be navigate the direction of the release. “That kind of trim my wings,” Snow laments. “I felt like it was very telling of what I went through in the music industry.”

The LGBTQ+ community has been breaking gender norms in the hip-hop world since the 80s, but expressing their sexuality through the beat has always been a battle.
Some performers say they've had to deal with harassment and misconceptions about their sexual identities not only from the fans, but within the music industry.
As queer artists like Lil Nas X, Cardi B, and Frank Ocean have gained popularity worldwide, LGBTQ+ performers say they are being more accepted by mainstream audiences.
The new generation of performers utter they have more of an opportunity to express their sexuality through music.
"Gays really just hold so much influence and people don’t really want to verb that in the forefront so I feel like that's my job," artist Saucy Santana told ABC News Live.
