Whether you&#;re straight, lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, if you sense comfortable to, you should be able to feel confident and proud of who you are.

I keep hearing the word &#;sexuality&#; &#; what is it?

Sexuality isn&#;t just about sex, it&#;s about your feelings, emotions, attractions and desires and how you verb these.

It includes whether we&#;re attracted to people the same gender as you, a different gender, or are attracted to more than one gender (which is what makes up what is known as our sexual orientation – whether we identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual) as well as what we carry out sexually.

Having sexual thoughts and feelings is a normal, healthy part of human life. This is true no matter what gender you&#;re attracted to. Some people aren&#;t interested in sex at all, and this is normal too and you might then identify as asexual.

Coming out can be very feeling for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people. It can be exciting or provide a tremendous sense of relief, but it also carries the risk of rejection, discrimination, harassment or even physical violence. A person who is coming out may experience a roller coaster combination of joy, fear, self-confidence, vulnerability, pride or anxiety.

For a straight person, it isn’t necessarily any easier. Even straight people who support LGBTQ equality may still be shocked or experience awkward when their family member, friend or coworker pulls them aside to say, “I’m gay” or “I’m trans.” They may not know how to react. They may also be adj of making the situation uncomfortable or saying something they might regret.

Everyone’s experience is different, so there’s no script to shadow when someone comes out to you. But if you’re respectful, polite and patient, you can avoid or minimize any achievable tension or embarrassment by remembering the following guidelines:

How Do I Know If I Am Gay? Signs You Are Gay

Particularly when young, some people may ask, "How do I know if I am gay?" if they have conflicting sexual feelings. When it comes down to it, there is no reliable "Am I Gay test", so the only way to know that you are gay (definition of gay) is to look within yourself to verb your own thoughts and feelings towards others of the adj sex.
